Pensieve Labs | Pensieve
POL-GL-062
v1.0.0 | 01 August 2026
POL-GL-062 | Version 1.0.0 | Effective 01 August 2026 | Last Modified On 01 August 2026
This Policy states who may use the Pensieve Labs name, the Pensieve name and the
associated logos, in what form, and without asking. It is written to be permissive: a hospital that has
bought a platform should be able to say so, and a journalist should be able to write about it, without
seeking permission from a lawyer.
It also states the reciprocal position, which matters more to a hospital than its own rights here:
Edsol Edtech Pvt. Ltd. does not use a hospital's name, logo or story without that hospital's written
consent.
This Policy binds everyone who uses the marks, whether or not they are a customer. It applies identically
across DM-1 to DM-4: brand usage does not vary by deployment model.
1.1 The marks covered are the word marks Pensieve Labs and Pensieve, the
Edsol Edtech Pvt. Ltd. corporate name, the associated logos and logotypes, and the visual identity in
which they are presented.
1.2 Registration. This Policy does not assert that any mark is a registered trade mark in any market.
Where a registration exists, it is recorded in the entity document index (REG-IN-000) and evidence is
available on request. Unregistered rights are asserted where the law of the relevant market recognises
them.
1.3 Correct form.
| Write | Not |
|---|---|
Pensieve |
pensieve, PENSIEVE, Pensieve™ (unless a registration exists in your market), "the Pensieve system" |
Pensieve Labs |
Pensieve Labs Inc., Pensieve Labs Ltd, Pensieve Labs Pvt Ltd |
Edsol Edtech Pvt. Ltd., the contracting entity, in contracts and invoices |
Any abbreviation not on the Order Form |
1.4 The marks are adjectives, not verbs or nouns to be inflected. Write "the Pensieve
platform", not "we Pensieved the data" or "three Pensieves".
1.5 Never alter a logo. Do not recolour it, stretch it, rotate it, add effects to it, place it on an
insufficiently contrasting background, combine it into a single lock-up with another logo, or recreate it.
Current assets are published at https://pensievelabs.org; use those files.
Permission is not required for any of the following.
2.1 Saying you use it. A customer may state, in its own materials, tenders, annual report, internal
communications, signage and job advertisements, that it uses Pensieve, and may use the word
mark to do so. No approval, no notice, no logo licence.
2.2 Referring to it accurately. Journalists, analysts, researchers, students and anyone else may name the marks in reporting, commentary, comparison and criticism. Pensieve does not condition coverage on approval and does not ask to review it.
2.3 Truthful comparison. A competitor may name Pensieve in a comparison, provided the
comparison is accurate and does not imply endorsement. Pensieve's own position is that comparison tables
against hospital information systems misread what the Platform is; that is an argument to have in public,
not a trade mark matter.
2.4 Integration and technical statements. A supplier whose system integrates with the Platform may say
so factually ("integrates with Pensieve"), provided it does not imply certification, approval
or partnership that does not exist. Pensieve operates no partner certification programme, so no such claim
can be true.
2.5 Redistributing published documents. A document published at the Public tier of the Trust Center may be shared, printed and forwarded freely, provided it is complete, unmodified, and carries its document identifier and version stamp. This includes sharing it with the hospital's board, auditors, insurers and advisers.
2.6 Using the logo in a customer's own internal system. A customer may place the logo on an internal portal, an intranet tile or a training deck, unmodified.
Write to info@pensievelabs.org. Pensieve answers within five Business Days.
3.1 Using a logo in your own marketing, advertising or public-facing website, as distinct from saying you use the Platform in words, which is free under 2.1.
3.2 Using a mark in the name of your own product, company, service, publication, event, conference, user group, or in a domain name, social media handle or application listing.
3.3 Merchandise, printed goods or apparel bearing a mark.
3.4 Any use suggesting partnership, sponsorship, endorsement, accreditation, certification or an official relationship.
3.5 Modifying a Trust Center document, extracting part of it, or re-publishing an extract under your own identity.
4.1 Registering, or attempting to register, a mark, a confusingly similar mark, or a domain name incorporating one, in any market.
4.2 Using a mark in a way that suggests Edsol Edtech Pvt. Ltd. holds a certification, accreditation or
regulatory approval. Pensieve holds no certifications, and a claim otherwise made by anyone is a
misrepresentation Pensieve will act on. This is the single most damaging misuse available, and it is
usually made helpfully rather than maliciously.
4.3 Using a mark on material that is unlawful, that would mislead a patient, or that presents the
Platform as making clinical decisions (DIS-GL-028).
4.4 Using a mark in a way that implies Edsol Edtech Pvt. Ltd. endorses a clinical practice, a
therapeutic product, a treatment protocol or a political position.
4.5 Redistributing, publishing, or providing to a third party any document from a gated tier of the
Trust Center: NDA-gated, client-only or internal. Those are governed by POL-GL-501, NDA-GL-002 and the
watermarking notice (POL-GL-510), and the restriction is contractual, not merely a matter of brand.
4.6 Removing, obscuring or altering a document identifier, version stamp, watermark or classification label.
The reciprocal position, stated in the same document so that it cannot be missed.
5.1 Edsol Edtech Pvt. Ltd. does not use Customer legal name's name, logo, photographs, case
study, quotation or logo-wall placement without a signed Reference and Publicity Consent (ADD-GL-020).
5.2 Signing an Order Form is not consent. Consent is a separate instrument, it is specific to the use, and it is revocable on notice.
5.3 In a tender, a due-diligence process or a reference conversation, Pensieve names a customer only where that customer has consented to being named for that purpose.
5.4 Pensieve does not publish a hospital's data, metrics or outcomes (even anonymised) without consent
recorded in ADD-GL-020.
5.5 Where consent is withdrawn, Pensieve removes the material from its own properties within ten Business Days and does not re-use it. Material already printed or distributed offline is not recalled, and Pensieve says so honestly rather than promising the impossible.
6.1 A customer's right to use the marks under 2 continues for as long as the statement remains true.
6.2 After termination, a former customer may continue to state accurately that it used
Pensieve during a stated period, and should stop stating that it uses it. Logo use under
3.1 ends on termination.
6.3 Nothing in this Policy grants any ownership interest in a mark. All goodwill from permitted use
accrues to Edsol Edtech Pvt. Ltd..
6.4 This Policy does not grant a licence to any patent, copyright or other right in the Platform. The
licence to use the Platform is in MSA-IN-001 and the Order Form.
7.1 Report suspected misuse to info@pensievelabs.org.
7.2 Proportionate enforcement. Pensieve's first step in almost every case is a plain e-mail asking for the use to be corrected. It does not send a legal demand to a customer, a student, a journalist or a researcher for a good-faith mistake in form.
7.3 Enforcement is different where a misuse asserts a certification Pensieve does not hold, implies clinical decision-making, or is used to deceive a hospital or a patient. Those are corrected immediately.
7.4 A request from Pensieve to correct a use is not a claim of breach of contract unless it says so.
| # | Testable statement | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| T-1 | No published Pensieve material names a customer without a signed ADD-GL-020 |
Annual review of marketing and Trust Center content against the consent register |
| T-2 | Every consent withdrawal was actioned within 10 Business Days | Consent register with removal timestamps |
| T-3 | Every permission request under 3 was answered within 5 Business Days | Legal mailbox log |
| T-4 | No Pensieve material claims a certification, accreditation or partner programme | Annual content review |
| T-5 | Public-tier documents redistributed by customers retained their identifier and version stamp | Spot-check of documents received back from the market, where observed |
9.1 Reviewed annually under POL-GL-502, and whenever a mark is registered or a new market is entered.
9.2 A change to this Policy does not retrospectively make an earlier permitted use unlawful. Material already produced under a previous version may continue to be used for twelve months.

|---|---|---|---|
| 1.0.0 | 2026-08-01 | Legal | First published version. Deliberately permissive: customers may say they use the Platform and redistribute public-tier documents without asking, and press and competitors may name the marks. States plainly that no registration is asserted, that no partner certification programme exists, and that the most damaging misuse is an implied certification. Sets out the reciprocal commitment that Pensieve never names a hospital without a signed ADD-GL-020, with a ten-business-day removal on withdrawal, and lists five testable statements. |
